summer snapshots
A week into summer and it's clearly going to be the best two months i've had in a long time. I've been using my dad's fancy schmancy Canon camera all over the place, including several dinner parties I've been to in the past few days. Here's some photography for you, I felt like posting it somewhere other than my Facebook page... has anyone else been extremely bored with Facebook lately? Below I've got shots of me and my brother visiting our dad's friends vineyard, the cats of the vineyard, random nature, etc., as well as photos from a dinner party at my friends house with her boyfriend, brother and new labrador puppy, Zona. She's so cute I can't stand it (:

little survey
I got this survey from Tru of The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I love these things, thank you <3
Were you happy when you woke up? I felt really excited to have a day where nothing was planned, so yes, I think so.
Do you plan on moving in the next year? Nope, I think I'm here till I go off to college.
If you were to marry the last person you texted what would your last name be? I won't say their last name, but it'd be Irish and totally unlike me hah!
Is there one guy/girl you will always have feelings for? No, I haven't found someone like that yet.
When was the last time someone called you cute or hot? Two days ago.
Any summer plans for 2009? I'm here riding my bike and relaxing until the 13th of July, when I scoot off to Iowa to rebuild homes that were damaged by flooding last year, and then I come home for a couple days and go back out to Colorado to go to summer camp and backpack! My sixteenth birthday is August 9th, I get home from camp the next day and school starts just nine days later!
Have you ever quoted a line from a movie? I always quote Nacho Libre - "Would you like to come to my quarters for some toast?"
Still speak to any of your classmates from elementary school? Of course!
Who was the last person you talked to in person today? My dad, I haven't seen anyone else yet.
When someone says "we need to talk" what do you think? I always get so nervous and think I've done something terrible... I tend to overthink things.
Do you stay up later than 10 PM on a week night? During the summer, yes.
How did you get your last bruise? I got so many on my legs and I don't know where from - maybe biking? But I haven't fallen over so I am puzzled...
At this very moment, what are you doing? I'm on my bed under my comforter, listening to the new Jonas Brothers album and just finished watching The Hills. You can totally tell that I have soooo much to do today (;
Did you enjoy the movie Twilight? I haven't seen it yet! I'm not a groupie at all.... but my friend promised to bring her DVD over so we could watch it sometime this summer.
Could you survive the rest of your life without drinking alcohol? Of course.
Are you good at giving directions? I guess so.
Could you survive without electricity? Yeah, it'd be an adventure!
What time did you get up this morining? 7 AM
What time did you go to sleep? 12 AM
How often do you drink energy drinks? They are so gross, never!
Have you ever liked someone older than you? Yeah... didn't work out so well, he fell for the Danish foreign exchange student instead hah!
Are you waiting for something? I'm waiting for my mom to get home so I can ask her if she'll drive me places today.
Are girls too dramatic? Yes, it's something I absolutely loathe.
Have you learned any life lessons? Yeah, I've learned to manage my time and think before I act. And right now, I'm learning who my true friends are and aren't.
Do you ever think "what if"? All the time, baby.

happy days
I am so obsessed with this song and this video. If you like cute French things, then this is for you. I try to make my life as carefree and sweet as this video is. Coeur de Pirate is such a great artist, she has a really good rendition of I Kissed A Girl by Katy Perry.
I recently bought a cute Electra Townie bike and I've been riding it all over the place and taking photos. I'll post pictures soon!
Oh, and finally it's summer and it's lovely. In the past week, I've gone to a grad party, a wedding, my dad's friends vineyard for dinner, a surprise party, and have biked every day! It's so relaxing to stay up late and sleep in and have no worries about schoolwork and such (: How is summer going for you?
When I'm not riding my new "baby," I've been reading Three Cups of Tea, which is so inspiring and powerful, as well as doing the Seventeen Magazine fitness plan, I'm really motivated to start working out more and eating healthier because of it. I went to a friend's wedding on Saturday and bought an extremely cute dress at Anthropologie, and got silver wedges and a blueish silver pashmina to match. Below is a picture of the dress, and then of a scarf I bought at Anthro on sale!
Brightness and Shadow Dress, Anthropologie

Oh! Another thing I love about summer is a chance to catch up on TV shows or start watching a series that's been around forever and you've never gotten to. So, to start off, my friend got me hooked up The Hills, and as trashy and unrealistic as reality television might be, I am kind of in love with LC and her life... minus the drama. You know a girl crush? That's what I've got, I'm not gonna lie. I love her casual, poised style - she looks good in everything! Her internship at Teen Vogue with Whitney is what I've always dreamed of, and I love her apartment and attitude. If I wanted to be best friends with a celeberity, LC or Lo Bosworth would be at the top of my list, right behind Demi Lovato. They're all so adorable! Anywho, once I finish up with The Hills I'm gonna need another show to watch, maybe something a little more though provoking (:

oh goodness
I haven't updated in so long, last month went by so fast! School ends next thursday, I'm so excited to finally be an upperclassman - the glory of getting a lisensce, taking AP courses, joining newspaper staff and feeling older and more important! I've got a thank you shout out to Casey of Teen Fashionista for picking me as a runner up for her Meg Cabot Airhead contest, so thank you so much Casey, you're the best!
I recently broke my four month long iTunes diet, after giving in and buying ten or so songs this week. I had been trying to be practical and save money, so I decided I wouldn't download anything off of iTunes for a while. It's okay, I am proud of myself for keeping off that nifty site for so long... now I am content listening to some great new songs, all of which I have added to my summer playlist.
1. Curious - Holly Brook
2. How Sweet It Is - Michael Bublé
3. You Belong to Me - The Like
4. Victoria - The Kooks
5. You Give Me Something - James Morrison
6. Makes Me Wonder - Maroon 5
7. Dance Me To the End of Love - Madeleine Peyroux
8. Black and Gold - Katy Perry
9. Yellow - Jem
10. Rebellion - Arcade Fire
And I want to make this a long post, for I am afraid and ashamed to say that this will be my last post for a week unless I procrastinate and blog instead of studying for my multitude of finals, so I want to add some photography i've found around xanga and and have posted on my tumblr, which you can check out here. This week, the theme is POLAROIDS. Are you obsessed with polaroid photos as much as I am?!
Any suggestions for a theme for next week?! Anywho, I'm off to finish The Kite Runner for English, and do a science study guide for my final! Next time I'll update with some more photos, as well as talk about my new guilty pleasure, watching The Hills! Thank you for reading and have a nice day (:
